However, these teams do not work on their own: the exchanges with the other entities of the Renault Group are constant. This is how technologies are regularly transferred from competition to the road. These innovations contribute to driving pleasure, performance and reliability.

Concretely, the examples of technologies coming from competition and which are now used in standard production are numerous:

  • By measuring the grip on the ground, the Launch Control takes action with engine torque to eliminate wheel spin during start-ups.
  • When down shifting, the Multi Change Down allows for down shifting several gears by holding down the paddle.
  • Inspired by data acquisition systems, the R.S. Monitor records the information from the sensors for computer analysis
  • Imagined in the 1980’s for the R21 Turbo Super Production, the front axle with independent pivot arm (TAPI) allows for improved traction on the most powerful models of the R.S range.
  • Coming from rallying, the hydraulic compression stops of the shock absorbers offer unequalled handling for a sports car.
  • Designed to adapt to the deformation of cylinders by the pressure prevailing inside the engine, the U-Flex segment is among the innovations first introduced in F1.
