Renault Sport Academy Driver Christian Lundgaard will make his GP3 Series debut this weekend as the championship heads to Circuit Paul Ricard, France, for round two.
Christian will drive for MP Motorsport across the two races, as part of a one-off entry in the class. The Dane, who races for the Dutch-based outfit in the Formula Renault Eurocup, becomes the youngest driver in the 2018 GP3 field at 16 years old.
Christian has previous experience of Circuit Paul Ricard, having made his Eurocup bow in Le Castellet in April, finishing fifth in race one and third in race two.
Track action in France commences on Friday 22 June at 10:25 for practice, before qualifying later in the day at 18:50. Race one is at 11:30 on Saturday with race two on Sunday morning at 10:50.
“It’s a very big opportunity for me to be competing in the GP3 Series. It’ll be a whole new experience for me, especially driving a car with a lot more horsepower and downforce to what I’m used to. I’ll be out there aiming to get the best results possible and trying to learn as much as I can in a short space of time. I know the circuit quite well from racing in the Formula Renault Eurocup there this year, so I can take that as a small advantage. A big thank you to everyone who has made this happen, I’ll be giving it my best.”
